AdvanSix is looking for several different levels of Instrumentation Supervisor, or Planner, to join this to be publicly traded, stand-alone company.

Job Responsibilities:
• Estimating and initiating work orders for capital projects, both mechanical and E/I
• Preparing, forecasting, and explaining cost variance per project
• Procuring equipment and materials and outside services with focus on fixed price packages
• Managing repairs, purchases, invoices, and receipts for project work
• Creating Kits for Project work
• Reviewing backlog maintenance notifications in SAP and process work orders ahead of schedule
• Developing and maintaining instrumentation documentation, updating bill of materials as required
• Developing and updating job plans for specific repairs and pieces of equipment
• Auditing and retaining shop papers and job history forms
• Communicating with plant supervisors on daily activities and work priorities
• Accountable for administrative oversight of Contractors, (including nested contractors) when necessary
• Providing relief planner coverage for vacations and training
• Administering the critical instrumentation database, providing mechanical integrity/ ISO compliance support for project planning
• Other work as required
• Conducting safety meetings for the craftsmen and technicians at specified intervals
• Distributing and reviewing Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) at the job site and verifying that all permits are satisfied
• Reinforcing safety practices on a daily basis
• Supervising departmental safety and housekeeping practices and maintain a constant alert for hazardous conditions
• Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
• Maintaining total awareness to all plant policies, regulations, and procedures, and ensures proper adherence to them with respect to all operations
• Responding to employee injuries by investigating accident causes and recommending means to prevent accident reoccurrence
• Reinforcing quality in maintenance processes and ensure that all employees follow established guidelines
• Increasing yields by working individually or on teams to resolve problems
• Looking for continuous improvement opportunities to reduce cycle time and/or cost and improving on-time delivery
• Planning, supervising, directing and engaging in daily production operations and anticipate problems, (i.e. material shortages, equipment malfunctions, rush orders, etc.) such that loss of work hours is minimized and production and quality objectives are achieved
• Utilizing skills, work hours, materials, and work flow to achieve production
• Planning, executing, and allocating of resources for all priority work (i.e., handling the daily, firefighting)
• Collecting, auditing, and submitting completed shop papers and job history forms to the appropriate Planner
• Reviewing job plans and communicating changes to the Planner
• Assisting planners in setting schedules and assigning priorities to maintenance backlog
• Interfacing with and coordinating daily maintenance activities with the Area Coordinators
• Performing administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department
• Facilitating and coaching employees and work teams to achieve shift/plant goals and objectives
• Exchanging timely information with other supervisors on interdepartmental product flow and work force needs
• Disseminating information to employees within work center on a regular basis using effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills
• Effectively setting expectations, select, develop, train, and motivate employees to acquire maximum efficiency, productivity, cooperation, and morale
• Addressing substandard performance in a fair and timely manner. Coach and mentor subordinates for personal and professional development
• Creating a positive work environment
• Performing other work as required

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
• Associates Degree in an Electrical Technology
• or
• High School Diploma/GED with 5 Years Equivalent Electrical/Mechanical/Instrument Experience
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment
• 2+ years of maintenance leadership experience

Additional Qualifications:
• BS Degree in Technical / Engineering Technology
• 3 or more years of Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance leadership experience preferred
• Experience working in a union environment strongly preferred
• Proficient in s software such as SAP preferred
• Six Sigma certification preferred
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities in lean tools preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong leadership skills preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization
• Demonstrated ability to use influencing skills to accomplish goals and objectives
• High degree of initiative is required as well as ability to respond quickly, effectively and accurately to employee and production issues
• Ability to establish/build relationships with peers, subordinates, and internal customers
• Ability to balance multiple and changing production requirements and to make sound business decisions using facts and good judgment
• Knowledgeable in repair techniques for a broad array of mechanical applications
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Strong computer skills such as: SAP, Microsoft office: Word, Excel, Outlook
